Viscosity DIN Cups

Viscosity is a critical property in determining the flow behavior of liquids such as paints, coatings, varnishes, lacquers, and inks. One of the most commonly used methods to measure viscosity in these industries is the DIN Cup #4 (in accordance with DIN 53211 standard).DIN Cup #4 is favored for its simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and repeatability, making it ideal for routine quality control, batch consistency verification, and process monitoring in manufacturing environments. However, it's important to note that while DIN Cup measurements are convenient, they provide only an empirical value—not an absolute viscosity—and should be correlated with other standardized methods (such as Brookfield or Zahn) if precise rheological data is required.
